Aluminium Enclosures
Aluminium enclosures provide excellent (EMC) protection of electronics. Due to the high load capacity of the aluminium material, the enclosures are suitable for applications with the highest requirements. The protection class is standard IP65/66 up to IP68. Various housing dimensions and a wide range of accessories offer an optimal solution for a variety of applications. On request, we supply the housings in special colors or uncoated. For particularly high protection requirements, the housings are available with special EMC shielding measures or with a special seawater-resistant coating. The classic application of these housings is as terminal housings equipped with terminal blocks and cable glands. For further protection, all Phoenix Mecano aluminium enclosures are passivated with SurTec650 before powder coating.
Aluminium Enclosure as Terminal Box
Aluminium enclosures are commonly used as terminal or distribution boxes in industry. They are lightweight yet robust, ideal for electromechanical components. Side walls feature threads for easy cable gland installation without a locknut. With over 70 sizes available, they accommodate various terminals and pushbuttons. Most covers use captive screws, while some have hinged lids for frequent access. We handle complete processing and assembly of cable glands and terminal blocks to your specifications.
Aluminium Enclosures for Electronics in MSR Measurement and Control Technology
The Aluform and Bocube Alu series were designed for electronics in measurement and control technology. They feature a compact height and integrated mounting domes for PCBs. Bocube Alu also offers a recessed foil area for membrane keypads and a quick-release hinge for easy access, while still allowing screw closure. Covered lid screws enhance aesthetics. Aluminium provides excellent EMC properties, protecting electronics from interference.
Properties and Advantages of Aluminium Enclosures
Terminal boxes face harsh environments and are made from high-quality aluminium alloy AC-ALSi 12c(Fe) per DIN-EN 1706. Produced via modern die casting, they are washed, passivated with SurTec 650, and painted for excellent corrosion resistance. Standard IP66, they can be upgraded to IP68 with a special seal. Various seals, including EMC options, are available. The spring-groove principle ensures effective sealing. Mounting is via screw channels outside the sealing area, with optional external lugs.
