CO₂ Measuring Devices in Plastic Injection Molding

AIRICA is a young, dynamic startup with the goal of improving indoor air quality. Creating spaces that promote health, performance, and well-being is more important today than ever before. The contact with AIRICA was established through our partner Miromico, who developed the electronics.

The task was to optimize the existing product design for injection molding both economically and technically and to produce it in high quantities. Additionally, AIRICA’s customers are to be supplied directly by us through dropshipping. They were looking for a supplier capable of handling everything from a single source.

Since the design of the injection-molded parts had already been finalized, the electronics, including the sensor and LED, had to be securely enclosed. A key factor was achieving homogeneous illumination on the translucent plastic front. Additionally, for aesthetic reasons, no screws were to be used to secure the lid and base. The fasteners needed to be strong enough to prevent the parts from separating upon impact, yet still allow for easy assembly. Choosing the right material was crucial to ensuring both a proper seal and uniform illumination of the translucent lid. With air quality being a pressing concern, the goal is to bring the product to market within a few months.

We developed a comprehensive concept that goes beyond mold making and injection molding to include the entire production process up to delivery. This includes: - Procurement and assembly of electronics - Functional testing of the product - Complete packaging - Dropshipping to AIRICA’s customers By shipping directly to customers, AIRICA eliminates the need for its own inventory and entrusts the entire global delivery process to Phoenix Mecano.

Through this collaboration, the startup benefits from our expertise while reducing capital requirements, minimizing startup challenges, and lowering overhead costs. In close coordination, we brought the product design to life in line with technical requirements. Every decision - from material selection to color choice - was made together.
