Gribi Hydraulics AG
With the market launch of a new hydraulic system, GRIBI Hydraulics AG struck a chord with the times. The new product was so well received by customers that the volume of orders increased significantly. To maintain the usual standards of quality, reliability, and on-time delivery, a solution had to be found. As a result, a productivity increase of at least 20% became absolutely essential.
For GRIBI Hydraulics AG, this presented a particular challenge, as the components are almost identical, with only a left and right version of the hydraulic system. To ensure maximum process reliability in the future and to guarantee the required quality, the installation of a SETAGO Pick-to-Light worker guidance system at the assembly workstation became essential.
Previously, the components of the hydraulic system were assembled at individual workstations using a batch manufacturing approach. This led to relatively long and time-consuming walking distances. Additionally, storing individual parts was costly and resulted in unnecessarily large inventories over time.
The objective was to complete the project in the shortest possible time to meet market demand for the newly developed product as quickly as possible. It was also crucial that the new assembly line fulfill all the requirements of l'ean production'.
What Customers Say About Us
Assembly manager, GRIBI Hydraulics AG
Thanks to the successful implementation of previous projects and the positive experience with mobile assembly trolleys, the company once again opted for this solution, along with the SETAGO Pick-to-Light assembly workstation system from Phoenix Mecano, during the design phase.
A well-thought-out arrangement of components at the assembly workstation even made it possible to integrate the test bench directly into the assembly line. As a result, the assembly process can now be carried out in a one-piece flow.
The advantages are clear: walking distances have been eliminated, and the costly warehousing previously required is no longer necessary, thanks to the Kanban system commonly used in lean production.
With a production increase of up to 30%, the original target was significantly exceeded. From the initial idea to the final installation and acceptance on-site, Phoenix Mecano proved to be a reliable partner.
The excellent collaboration between the design engineers at Phoenix Mecano and the product specialists at GRIBI Hydraulics AG made the project a complete success. GRIBI Hydraulics AG employees benefited from simplified assembly processes, while customers enjoyed top-quality products and consistently short delivery times.
