Surface Coatings for Optimal Protection and a Custom Look
In enclosure and profile technology, surface treatment primarily serves two purposes: protecting against external influences and giving the design a customised touch.
For die-cast aluminium, extruded aluminium profiles, or sheet metal, surface finishing is essential. It protects against corrosion and rust, thereby ensuring the enclosure’s longevity. Special coatings – for example, customised surface textures, special colours, or paint-free areas – are applied in our three wet paint and powder coating booths.
For larger series, we utilise an automatic powder coating plant. To guarantee a consistent finish for future orders, we agree on the precise colour, texture, and gloss level together.

Passivation – High Corrosion Protection and EMC Conductivity
After washing, the aluminium enclosures undergo passivation with SurTec650, a chromium(VI)-free process. This treatment creates a thin protective layer that provides excellent corrosion resistance and EMC conductivity, while also serving as a superior adhesion primer for subsequent painting. SurTec650 is RoHS compliant and an effective alternative to chromium-containing Alodine treatments.
Anodising – The Noble Surface for Aluminium
Provides excellent corrosion protection while delivering a refined aesthetic. Colour anodising is also available. Note that this process is only suitable for aluminium extrusions or milled solid aluminium components, and is not recommended for aluminium die-cast or gravity die-cast parts.
